Spirit Guides & Meditation

As an author, I take pleasure in writing speculative fiction. I also find fulfillment in resuming my role as an intuitive life coach and sharing my experiences to enlighten others. Today’s post focuses on connecting with your guides, an essential for achieving grounding and balance. The physical realm can be burdensome and eventually takes a toll on the soul, leaving us feeling disconnected and out of touch with ourselves. This is where the significance of communicating with our guides becomes evident. Below are some common questions and their corresponding answers.

— Does everyone have a guide? Yes, everyone has at least a few. I believe that in most cases, our guides get tired of being ignored and will often take a back seat until their student is willing to reach out to them. They never permanently leave, but they do require that we make a full effort to learn and grow as a human spirit. We have guides with us from the very beginning of life, all the way to our last breath. Other guides may come in at different points in our lives, but our original guides (or forever guides) will remain with us during life’s journey.

Do guides also serve as protectors and teachers? Yes, they can also offer comfort during troubling times. My forever guides are…Lucy, who is soft and often communicates during my half-asleep states, and Percivius, who is more direct with his communication and guidance. Either way, they balance each other out. There have been other guides over the years to assist me during periods of excessive personal growth, but they weren’t my forever guides.

–Who are these guides? Guides can be people assigned to us before birth, past-life relationships, future-life relationships, and spiritual teachers. They can also be deceased family members, past life relationships, or ancestral guides. In my speculative fiction novel, In Book I of Fuchsia Starr: The Quest for Averil (currently available on Barnes and Noble), Black Wren, Fuchsia’s deceased spiritual instructor, returns to her in spirit form offering assistance. She also sends an alien helper named Kee’rah to aid in finding her sister Averil. Fuchsia is allowed to come to her conclusions and is offered guidance but only when she asks for it. Guides won’t use force but will gently guide us in the right direction when asked. However, if they are aware that your path is not aligned with the chosen path to enlightenment or if you are in danger, they WILL redirect you.

Are guardian angels considered personal guides? Guardian angels aren’t personal guides but are angels of a higher power who serve and protect humankind. Archangel Michael and Raphael are just two to speak of.

There are different techniques one can utilize to connect with their guides:

  1. Find a quiet space. Use phone apps that can help relax and guide you into meditation. I usually prefer ocean waves or running water, such as a fountain or stream. However, I am clairaudient and sometimes prefer quiet instead of noisy apps but use whatever works for you. Just be sure that you are in a comfortable position with your feet firmly on the ground or in a supine position (try not to fall asleep). Remember to refrain from consuming sugar, caffeine, and alcohol before your session.

  2. Utilize crystals for protection or enhancing communication. Rose quartz is fabulous for protection and for enhancing positive communication. Hematite and black obsidian are also great for protection. Clear quartz, known as a power crystal, will help with clarity, and Angelite is fabulous in helping to connect with guides. Amethyst will help ground you and will assist in opening the third eye chakra. Remember to smudge (cleanse) the stones after purchase – do not use water to smudge Angelite or any other gypsum stone because it may eventually dissolve. You may also clear your meditative space with incense, North American sage, or white candles. If you have recently experienced negative thoughts or emotions, then visualize the negativity dissolving into dust.

  3. Remember to practice good breathing and body relaxation. Invite your guides to come in, with the understanding they will have their special way of letting you know they have arrived. Be patient; they will arrive at their speed. This is mostly because of the difference between the two worlds. We are in an extremely heavy dimension in comparison to the ethereal world. Also, they will show you clues. For example, when I see amethyst and peridot, this usually is an indicator that they wish to connect with me. Everyone is different and will usually have different experiences; you may have a feeling sweep over you or receive visualizations instead. You may also hear sounds. Keeping a journal will help you remember and will also help you process your experiences. If you’re an individual who is more comfortable with the mindful meditation of breathing practice and mental imagery, both body and mind, then that’s fine. This will have its benefits.

Above all, just remember to relax. Ask for the white light of protection before you open up meditation and be sure that your state of mind is in a good place. Enjoy!

Love, light, and peace…

Earth Bound Spirits

Earthbound Spirits & Smudging Rituals

As a young girl, I was taught to believe in hell and heaven. But after years of practicing metaphysics, I’ve learned there are other dimensions that coincide with our world, and ones that cannot be detected. All spirits may not enter into the same dimension. It solely depends on the mindset of each spirit, and oftentimes, spirits will choose to hang out with the living instead of moving on. In most cases, the negative feelings of confusion, fear, anger, resistance will lead to selfentrapment. You see, our souls were meant to check these things in at the door, per say. But out of fear, many spirits will choose to linger with their emotional baggage instead of traveling into the light. Sadly, they may never come to see the light if they refuse to return to source. In turn, this will most likely negate the ability to process their situation. It’s also where manifestations will sometimes occur and frighten the living.

One of my earliest experiences was that of a spirit working overtime to get my attention. They appeared as a faint glow while playing with my dining room lights and knocking on walls. When I knocked back, it counter replied with more knocking. Later on, there were more disturbances. Of course, instead of remedying the situation, I froze like a frightened rabbit. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but this was obviously a marked trait of ignorance on my part. After carefully assessing the situation, I concluded this tortured spirit to be stuck and seeking asylum from its nonexistence. How this spirit ended up in my care wasn’t as important as helping it move on. So, after educating myself to the practice of smudging (spiritual cleansing ritual), I sent it back to source.

Many people mistake entities as demons, or dark spirits out of fear. Yes, dark entities do exist, but it’s best to do valid research instead of panicking. If you do panic, it won’t do anything except fuel negative energy. Because if it is a negative spirit, fear and anger will only render its capabilities (as I will explain in the next chapter). By keeping calm, you will remain in control of the situation. Also, remember to treat any spirit with respect, regardless of the preconceptions you might be experiencing at the time.

*Don’t panic. It’s only in rare cases that you will need a professional for banishing trapped or negative souls.

Simple Smudging Technique for Your Home

There may be spirit in your house or negative forces sucking the life out of you. Worse yet, if you react to it, you will strengthen its capabilities. Regardless of the type of energy or origin, it will be to your best interest to perform a thorough cleansing ritual. There are other alternatives to sage. You may burn incense such as pine, rose, and incense, and frankincense. Burning a stick of Palo Santo is also a great form of purifying your space. Note: there are different ideas regarding the forage and sustaining of Palo Santo, but I will leave this to your discretion. You can burn any of these in an abalone shell or metal receptacle. This can be done for personal smudging as well, but I will explain more about that in the next chapter.

For those who cannot tolerate smoke because of allergies or do not like the smell of smoke their house, placing a vessel of water under the light of a full moon will have its own neutralizing capabilities. As for myself, I like to pour charged water into a spray bottle and incorporate a few drops of peppermint, orange, or cedar essential oils. I shake it up and spritz it liberally throughout the house. You can also add in a few drops of Florida water or just use plain sea salt water. Remember to pay close attention to obscure areas in your house, as these make perfect hiding places for lower-level entities. You can also line your doorways and window casings with salt while calling out your intentions.

*I highly recommend skipping the salt technique if you have pets. They can become ill if they ingest it.

Note: secondhand items from a thrift store or estate sale can carry potential unwanted energy and should also be smudged.

Always remember to ask for protection of the universal white light before doing so and ask for the energy to return to source (love, light, and truth). You may repeat the mantra, “I cleanse my home of all negativities. Likewise, certain crystals work well for protection. Selenite (self-cleansing crystal) and black obsidian (grounding and protection) are good for warding off negative energy.

Be sure to open every cabinet door and closet. Always remember to open a window for the energies/entities to exit and allow for appropriate ventilation (If using smoke method). It’s also important to keep your home free of clutter and discard items that no longer a serve purpose. Keeping your house organized and free of negativity is key.

A clean house is a happy house 😉

Connecting with Your Spirit Guides

As an author, I enjoy writing speculative fiction.

I also enjoy slipping back into my role as an intuitive life coach and writing about my experiences…so that it may help enlighten others.

Today’s post is about connecting with your guides which is essential to achieving grounding and balance. The physical realm is heavy and eventually takes a toll on the human soul. It also leaves us feeling plugged up and out of touch with ourselves. This is where the value of communicating with our guides comes in.

Here’s some Q&A:

  1. Does everyone have a guide? Yes. Everyone has at least a few. I believe that in most cases, our guides get tired of being ignored and will often disappear until their student is willing to reach out to them. They never permanently leave, but they do require that we make full effort to learn and grow as a human spirit. We have guides with us from the very beginning of life, all the way to our last breath. Other guides may come in at different points of our lives, but our original guides (or forever guides) will remain with us during life’s journey.
  2. Do guides also serve as protectors and teachers. Yes, and they can also offer comfort during troubling times. One of my forever guides, Lucy, is by far the most nurturing and will often show herself during meditations, above and beyond. And while she is full on with her communication, Percuvius (my other forever guide) is more subdued through dreams and meditations. Polar opposites, they definitely balance each other out. There have been other guides over the years to assist me during excessive growth spurts throughout life, and as much as I appreciate my time with them, they weren’t my forever guides.
  3. Who are these guides? Guides can be people assigned to us prior to birth, past-life relationships (on Earth or distant planet), future-life relationships, and spiritual teachers while in our spirit form. While others can be deceased family members or ancestral guides. In my latest speculative fiction novel, Fuchsia Starr~ the Quest for Averil (currently available on Barnes and Noble), Black Wren, Fuchsia’s deceased spiritual instructor from earlier days on Proxima b, returns to her through spirit-form offering assistance. She also sends an alien helper named Kee’rah Fuchsia’s way to aid with finding her sister Averil. Also, Fuchsia is allowed to come to her own conclusions and is offered guidance but only when she asks for it. That’s exactly how it works for us: when asked, guides won’t use force but will gently guide us in the right direction. However, if they are aware that your path is not aligned with the chosen path to enlightenment, they will happily redirect you. In most cases you will not like what’s happening but will be happy with the end results.
  4. Are guardian angels considered personal guides? Guardian angels aren’t personal guides but are angels of the higher power who serve and protect humankind. Archangel Michael and Raphael are just two to speak of.

There are different techniques one can utilize to connect with their guides:

1. Find a quiet space. There are phone apps that can help relax and guide you into meditation. I usually prefer ocean waves or running water, such as a fountain or stream. However, I am clairaudient and mostly prefer quiet in lieu of noisy apps but use whatever works for you. Just be sure that you are in a comfortable position with your feet firmly planted on the ground or in a supine position (try not to fall asleep). **Remember to refrain from ingesting sugar, caffeine and alcohol prior to your session.

2. Utilize crystals for protection or enhancing communication. Rose quartz is fabulous for protection and for enhancing positive communication. Hematite (mercury-like in color) and black obsidian (black sometimes with white flecks) are also great for protection. Clear quartz, known as a power crystal, will help with clarity, and Angelite is fabulous in helping to connect with guides. Amethyst, an all-purpose stone, will help ground you and will assist in opening the third eye chakra.

All of the above are good beginner stones, just remember to smudge them after purchase -do not use water to smudge Angelite or any other gypsum stone as it will eventually dissolve. You may also clear your meditative space with incense, North American sage, or white candles. * If you have recently experienced negative thoughts or emotions, then visualize the negativity dissolving into dust.

3. Remember to practice good breathing and body relaxation. Invite your guides to come in with the understanding they will have their own special way of letting you know they have arrived. Be patient, they will arrive at their own speed. This is mostly because of the difference of the two worlds: we are in an extremely heavy dimension in comparison to the etherical world.  Also, they will show you clues. Keeping a journal will help you remember and will also help you process your experiences. If you’re an individual who is more comfortable with the mindful meditation of breathing practice, mental imagery, both body and mind, then so be it. This will definitely have its own benefits.

Above all, just remember to relax. Ask for the white light of protection before you open up meditation and be sure that your state of mind is in a good place. practice … enjoy!

New release….FUCHSIA STARR ~THE QUEST FOR AVERIL

Summer has long ended, and we are well into autumn…time to curl up with a good book or two.

As you all may already know, I recently launched another book, Fuchsia Starr~ The Quest for AverilI also released a couple books over the last few years: Not as it Appears and Kora’s Ghostly mission. Both books were of paranormal nature. Fuchsia Starr, on the other hand, is hard science fiction with a slight paranormal twist. It has the element of speculative fiction.

The characters are quite colorful, as well as delightful…however dysfunctional in their own representation. Fuchsia Starr, a sharp-as-a-razor resident of Luyten b, is a lipstick-mogul-turned- baroness who will stop at nothing to locate her missing sister (Averil). In contrast, Laramie (Fuchsia’s ex-husband-hired bounty hunter) has more credentials than common sense and has failed miserably in his quest for Averil. He pushes on without any idea that Fuchsia has decided to pursue her sister with the help of an Alien named Kee’rah.

The time period is many years into the far future…when the Milkyway and Andromeda galaxies merge. And when the Earth is rendered uninhabitable by the expanding sun, mankind is scattered to various parts of the galaxy. Throughout time, races meld and hybridized versions of humans (Prototypes 1 and 2) begin to appear. It is during this process that humans (Total Humans) face possible extinction…even in the vastness of the universe.

Ross 128 b, a tidally locked planet, harbors many dangers and is where the majority of the story takes place. This planet, mysterious and exotic, also has another side to it….and more than one. Obscure and frightening, it holds many dark secrets. Worse yet, Alaric (the planetary ruler), is an overt nutjob and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Please enjoy an excerpt from the novel below:

Averil & Alaric Back and Forth

Averil, with blonde tresses piled up Grecian style, and dressed in the most impressive geranium-red evening gown, was now sprawled across a blue velvet chase-lounge. Without proper warning a shiny pair of militant cyborgs stormed into her bedchamber to pluck her from her only place of comfort. She tried fending them off by curling up into a ball. Of course, this wasn’t the least bit helpful, so they pulled her by the wrists before shaking her until she became unraveled. As they dragged her from her chamber, her screams echoed down the vast hallway unheard and unimportant to the outside world.

Eventually, they came to the opening of a modern-day ballroom and shoved her through the archway, then tossed her onto the glossy-white floor like a rag doll. She opened her eyes when a large bubble landed next to her and ruptured in her face.

A man called out gruffly, “Averil, pull yourself up from the floor now. You must tend to your guest.”

Her doleful light-brown eyes swept upward until they came to the blurry likeness of Alaric. Surrounded by a surplus of iridescent bubbles, he stared down at her with steely-blue eyes. Unusually pale and smooth, with slick brown hair and in a gray admiral’s uniform, he resembled a creepy looking doll as he on sat in an enormous red velvet chair between the pair of illuminated Greek columns. As Averil’s eyes acclimated themselves some more, she noticed an identical pair of curvy cyborgs (F4) with Egyptian headdresses and black lingerie standing on the either side of him. In the backdrop a bubble machine continued to expel a steady continuation of bubbles throughout the room. Old elevator music sounded eerily in the backdrop. He smiled sardonically. “Hmm, that’s quite the face you have there. What gives?” As usual, he was taunting Averil into an argument simply because he enjoyed getting a reaction from her.

Tell them to go back to their end of the compound. I’m not in the mood for company.”

I will not.”

She sighed and grumbled, “Why the hell am I still here, Alaric?” Obviously at the end of her rope, she was to the point.

He glanced down at his manicured nails. “Um, excuse me for saying this, but you really should be grateful to be in my presence.”

She pursed her lips. “You know, you really are an asshole.”

He pointed at her accusingly. “Stop right there! Did you already forget that I gave you new limbs and a new life after that accident, you little bitch?”

She pulled herself up and glanced down at her contused wrists that were beginning to swell. “I’m sorry but I still don’t remember the accident or my injuries. Never mind the surgery.”

He pointed at her and replied, “If you look close enough you can see that your right foot is slightly bigger than the left. Same with the right hand.”

She stared at them and shrugged it off. “I can’t tell really. It’s kind of hard to believe that it ever happened.”

Believe it. You had prosthesis before the surgery. You were put in a coma for three weeks so that your new limbs could heal properly without injury,” he answered tiredly.

She cupped a hand over her mouth. “Oh my God! I had prosthesis?”

For the last timeyes.”

Was I flying the hovercraft when the accident happened?”

No.”

Who was?”

No one.” When she stared back at him blankly, he finished, “Three Earth years ago I signed an executive order banning all personal hovercraft and aircraft this side of the Terminator Belt.”

She crinkled her brow. “Okay, so what’s your point?”

My point is you were in a self-propelled hovercraft when the accident occurred. An unauthorized hovercraft, mind you,” he concluded blandly before stifling a yawn.

Then I was alone?”

He rolled his eyes in disgust and shouted, “Yes, for the umpteenth time, little bitch!”

Please stop calling me that.”

Why should I when you don’t seem the least bit grateful of my generosity?”

She frowned. “I…I am…it’s just that I’m sick of…”

He sighed and slumped into his seat. “Sick of what?”

I…I can’t do this anymore.”

He sat up abruptly. “Uh, you can’t do what anymore?”

She lifted the hem of her heavy gown and dropped it to the floor. “Everything including this awful dress. It’s terribly uncomfortable and heavy you know.”

I’m terribly sorry. You knew the protocol, little bitch,” he stated facetiously.

I said, stop calling me that!”

But you are a little bitch,” he fired back.

You said my contract would be up after a year. Why am I still here?”

I guess I lied,” he replied with the usual disgusting smirk.

Screw this. I want to go homenow!”

This is your home.”

She started to shake. “Like hell! You can’t keep me here as your slave anymore.” Although she was nervous, her shaking was actually the end result of drug withdrawals accompanied by twitchy nerve endings from the surgery.

Oh, yes I can.”

She pursed her lips and threatened, “You know, people are eventually going to find me.”

He grinned as if greatly amused by her remark. “Who’s going to find you?”

M…my sister and L…Laramie,” she stammered quietly.

He replied with a smug expression, “Hopefully not. I promise to do something awful to them if they do.”

Her swollen eyes welled up with more tears. “You’re a real shit-head, Alaric.”

That’s actually quite nice compared to the other things I’ve been called.” He shifted in his chair some more and elaborated, “From now on your sole purpose in this world will be to exist as a high-paid escort and continue to bring me more Galactic currency.” He flashed a malevolent smile. “And with all my riches I can continue to control everything and everyone this side of the Terminator Belt.” He chortled loudly.

Freshen Up For Spring 🐣

Here’s to 2021! Here are some neat ideas to freshen up the old and bring in the new.

1. Add Lights To a Mantlepiece and Hutch:

Psst! I kept my artificial Christmas tree up this year and just took down the 💕Valentines Day baubles. Now it’s decorated for 🍀Saint Patrick’s Day.

Change up a hutch / mantelpiece with china, glass, crystal, metal or ceramics by holiday color theme or pattern. I love red patterned dishes and glass for Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Saint Paddy’s Day is right around the corner…lots of green. Robin’s egg, yellow and/or pink for Easter. Let’s not forget red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. Decorative lights in a large, clear vase will also add a little spark.

2. Jewelry Vignette:

Dress up a lowboy, table or chest in the bedroom or dressing room with pretty bowls, decorative wooden boxes, baskets or crystal/ metal trays filled with jewelry. Not only is it eye catching, it’s also a fabulous way to organize your everyday pieces.

3. Organize A Bookcase Into a Display Case:

Organize books by color and for showcasing or group by category. Add decorative lights. Stack the books 📚 in various areas to stage artifacts/baubles such as interesting rocks, seashells, meditation crystals, paper weights or figurines. Add finishing touches by showcasing small still-life paintings or scenic photos. This works exceptionally well with shadow boxes too minus the books.

4. Display Pretty Textiles:

For bohemian vibe, drape a layer of similar hued textiles of various patterns on the edge of your bed, draped over a chair or in a large basket. Vintage or new, this adds spark, warmth and color to any room. I like mixing patterns with decorative pillows as well.

5. Redo Art/Photo Frames With Rub ‘n Buff and Chalk Paint:

My favorite go-to is Rub ‘n Buff: metallic waxes. They come in a tube, they stink and they’re messy but they’re sooo much fun. They also work well over chalk paint for accenting. Just prep wood or metal surfaces and buff away! Works well on prepped furniture and lamps too.

6. Regroup Artwork Into Categories:

Bored with the same old scene? Simply organize your pictures by animals, portrait sketches, 🌺flowers, scenery, etc.

7. Set Up a Wine Cart:

Place colorful wineglasses🍷 (in a tray) on a dessert/utility cart or two- tiered side table. Place wine-stoppers, decorative napkins, and openers in a decorative dish. Add lights. Store wine on the bottom. Don’t drink? Set up a coffee bar instead. ☕️

8. Organize The Pantry:

Try keeping all dried goods; beans, rice, flour, sugar etc. in glass jars. Everything stays fresh and organized. It also makes it easier to find needed ingredients while cooking.

9. Organize The Laundry Area:

keep sundries in clear labeled containers with scoops for easy dispensing. Truth be told, I prefer plastic to glass just in case they slip through my hands and create a disaster. To keep clutter to a minimum, I keep dryer sheets, extra detergent, oxidizing powder and starch in baskets. Having a shelving unit above the washer and dryer is a plus. If not, a utility cart will work just as well.

An organized house is a happy house…remember to smudge for a positive vibe.
